Study reveals that the majority of people stull share files and sensitive data via Email, the most vulnerable way to go!!!

A newly released study published by a well known security software source reveals that a stunning 75% of their survey participants use email to share files containing sensitive data, despite the fact that it is the least protected, least secure and most vulnerable way to do so. Data listed by participants included company intellectual property, company financial records, and a vast array of medical information, tax records and other highly sensitive personal data.

The use of cloud services comes in second and social media messaging checks in third. Oddly enough, sharing of this same information by the most protected, most secure and least vulnerable method, an external storage device, crosses the finish line in last place. To add insult to injury, only about 10% of the respondents take the additional, wise precaution of encrypting the data.

If you’re ready to step up the security of your company data and your personal data to the top rung, Ciphertex Data Security has the external devices to get you there. The Ciphertex portable single drives deliver up to 16TB of external, encrypted storage, while the Ciphertex SecureNAS® line of portable NAS servers, dubbed the Fort Knox of data storage, can take you to over 150TB of highly secure, encrypted data certified to be FIPS 140-2 Level 3 compliant with its Ciphertex-Protect® encryption key.
